About Beulah's General Store

A counter, a scale, and a shelf of things people actually needed that week. That was the general store. We keep that shape, and added a hat bench in the back.
What we sell, and why
We stock two kinds of things. The first is the hat: felt and straw cowboy hats we block and shape ourselves, plus the bands, stamps and strings that go with them. The second is the shelf: cast iron, enamel, canisters, jars, cedar garden beds, wool throws and a tool kit that is worth owning. Both categories follow the same rule — if it breaks in a year, we do not carry it.
How we choose products
- Repairable or replaceable parts. A band, a sweatband or a handle should be orderable, not obsolete.
- Honest materials. If it is enamel on steel, the listing says enamel on steel. If a garden bed is cedar, we name the species.
- Season-tested. Anything for the garden lives through a Western New York winter before it goes on the shelf.
- Published limits. Every product page says what the item will not do. That is the part most stores leave out.
Who you are talking to
Beulah's is a small shop. The person who shapes your hat is the person who answers the email about it. Orders are packed in the same back room where the steam kettle sits, and we handle returns ourselves rather than routing them through a warehouse. If something is wrong, tell us directly: [email protected] or +1 (716) 555-0142.
Our editorial standards
Guides in the journal are written from what we do at the bench and in our own kitchens and gardens. Where we are unsure, we say so. We do not publish invented reviews, and we do not claim a product solves a problem it cannot.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
Some pages carry advertising, and some links to products we do not stock are affiliate links. They never change what we recommend: if a cheaper item does the job, we say so. Full detail is in our disclaimer.
